In Montreal, at the beginning of the 20th century, a poor and uneducated mother managed to lift her family out of poverty by becoming a resounding folk singer.
With the 20-30 crisis in the background and the first impulses of the struggle for women's rights, the script traces the life of Mary Travers Bolduc, her dazzling career, her difficult marriage and her touching relationship with her daughter. the oldest, Denise, who played the piano on her mother's records and dreamed of becoming an actress in Hollywood.
