A special technology program that teaches adults who have never used a computer how to navigate it. Get a free desktop computer or low priced laptop!
Are you a low income or newcomer adult who wants to learn how to use a computer? Do you have school age children? The library is excited to present this special program where you will not only learn how to use a computer, but you can take the computer with you! As part of a partnership with BC Technology for Learning Society, we will have a guest speaker teaching the very basics of using a computer, starting with turning it on. Every participant will have the choice between a free desktop computer kit or a laptop for 50.00$, purchased at the event. This event is designed for parents with low access to computers who want to help their children with school resources.
Session one is basic computing (this one). Session two (please see other event listing) is slightly more advanced computer work, looking at school programs. Sign up for one, or both!
Registration is required. Computer type must be selected at registration. Library and partner organization are not responsible for ongoing computer support. Participants will only receive one computer regardless of how many sessions they register for.
