Understanding your Education and Training options
Pre-Employment Skills for Newcomers
Wednesday, September 28
1:00pm - 2:30pm
Join the Library and ISSofBC JobQuest for a series of workshops to support newcomers who are seeking or entering the Canadian workforce.
These workshops are focused on topics of special interest to newcomers to Canada, however everyone is welcome to attend.
Many people look to education and training to increase their knowledge and skill sets for jobs and promotions. Before spending time and money on education or training, it is important to know what qualifications are in demand by employers, and what options exist outside of traditional post-secondary institutions.
Participants will learn about free or low-cost training options to upgrade skills and knowledge. Information on government-funded programs to help newcomers with credential evaluations and training loans will also be presented.
Registration required. The Library will be offering this tutorial using Zoom.
- Please register in advance and include your email address in order to attend.
- The Library will share an invitation to the Zoom meeting via email 24 hours in advance of the session.
- Please contact the Library if you have not received an email. We may be unable to email invitations to the Zoom meeting if you register less than 60 minutes before the start of the program.
