Join us to make new friends and learn social skills at the VoiceStory: Conversation and Connection sessions at the Library! Registration required.
The VoiceStory Foundation is bringing their popular “Conversations and Connection Sessions” social events to Coquitlam Public Library!
What are these social events about?
The VoiceStory social events are about putting away cell phones, disconnecting from the hustle and taking a moment to be with yourself and other community members.
If you have thoughts and feelings of being disconnected, uncertain of what to say, what to talk about, not wanting to go alone, “this is just another networking event…” or a multitude of other reasons… please understand that we have kept all of this in mind in the creation of these social events for you.
We start the event by introducing a few key concepts and providing you with some tools. Next, we invite you to participate in our safe, friendly, empowered space, where we will facilitate rounds of 1-on-1 conversation by providing a topic/question for each round of conversation.
For anyone 16 and up.
Will I get to meet new people?
Yes! We take care of pairing everyone up with someone new every round, so you have ample opportunity to meet new people from your community and practice the art of conversation.
When and where is this event held?
These social events happen twice a month at the Coquitlam Library City Center Branch from 630pm- 800pm on the following dates:
Wed April 12 - Key Concept: These 3 things that will make you a better listener.
Thurs April 27 - Key Concept: These 3 things that will make you a more effective communicator.
