City Centre Combined 136 & 137Join Coquitlam Public Library in this 5-part speaker series. Each session will focus on different cultural groups.
This series brings awareness of people who are from different cultural groups and how everyone's story is different. The speakers have experienced prejudice, social exclusion or stigma. The best way for Canadians to build a better future for all is to understand and appreciate everyone’s experiences.
The first speaker in this series is Christine Mackenzie. Christine is a First Nation Artist and Facilitator from the Kwakiutl Nation. Christine helps others in their journey to self identity and educating others about Indigenous culture, artwork and protocols. Speaking to only her teachings and life experience to support others in better understanding empathy when learning about Indigenous culture.
There will be time for questions from the audience.
Registration is recommended for each session, but drop-ins are welcome.
Light refreshments will be served.
