Read, talk about, and vote for your favourite book to help choose the Red Cedar Book Award winner! It’s a fun way to dive into new stories and have your say in this year's top title. For grades 4 - 7.
Be a Red Cedar Award reader! Together, we'll read at least five of this year's nominated books, track our reading, play fun games, and then cast our individual votes for the best book of the year. Each tween can choose which books they want to read - nominees include graphic novels, chapter books, and non-fiction titles. Voting takes place in May 2025, and we'll find out the winners in June 2025.

About the Red Cedar Book Award
Every year since 1998, thousands of children between grades 4 and 7 from across British Columbia are invited to read books from the nominated lists of non-fiction and fiction titles and vote for their favourite. The Red Cedar is one of the only book awards that is chosen directly by the readers!
