Supporting Early Learning on the Journey to Kindergarten
Wednesday, November 25
6:30pm - 8:00pm
Branch - City Centre
City Centre Combined 136 & 137This session will look at the many ways families can support children as curious, capable, and confident learners.
This presentation by Tazeen Bharucha from the YMCA Child Care Resource and Referral and Debra Vanderwood from School District #43 is aimed at parents of preschoolers
This workshop is designed to help parents and caregivers understand kindergarten readiness through a whole-child lens. Together, we will explore how children grow and learn socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and through everyday self-help skills. Rather than focusing on checklists or academic milestones alone, this session will look at the many ways families can support children as curious, capable, and confident learners. Through reflection, conversation, and practical ideas, parents will leave with a deeper understanding of what readiness can look like and how to help their child feel supported, prepared, and excited for kindergarten.
In partnership with the YMCA Child Care Resource and Referral, School District #43 and the Tri-Cities Literacy Committee
Light refreshments will be served.
Registration preferred but drop-ins accepted.
