Computer 101: How Do I Use a Computer?
Thursday, December 03
4:30pm - 6:30pm
Branch - City Centre
City Centre Room 127A special technology program that teaches adults who have never used a computer how to navigate it. Get a free laptop from ReuseTechBC to take home!
Are you a low income or newcomer adult who wants to learn how to use a computer? The library is excited to present this special program where you will not only learn how to use a computer, but you can take the computer with you! As part of a partnership with ReuseTechBC, we will be teaching the very basics of using a computer, starting with turning it on. Every participant will be able to take home a refurbished laptop free as part of the program. This program is for patrons who lack the financial or physical resources to get and learn from a computer.
Registration is required. The computers will be set up with basic profiles and confirmed to work, but the condition and quality of the computer is not guaranteed by ReuseTechBC or library. Participants will be able to select a random laptop of their choice during the program and cannot change the computer itself during the event after selection. Library and ReuseTechBC are not responsible for ongoing computer support. All laptops will come with a charging cord.
Computers are provided free to attendees through a special grant provided by Coquitlam Foundation Community Grants program, which was awarded to ReuseTechBC. We thank them for it.
