Are you looking for a book club that meets online? Look no further than our Virtual Book Club! We meet monthly on the fourth Monday of each month and we read some fabulous books.
All the books for this quarter are authors that will be featured in the Tri-Cities Writers Festival, taking place from May 28-31.
On April 28th, we will be discussing Crooked Teeth: A Queer Syrian Refugee Memoir by Danny Ramadan, our keynote speaker at the Writers Festival. This memoir is Danny's story from Damascus to Vancouver and all the places in between. Danny is a Syrian–Canadian novelist, public speaker, and LGBTQ-refugee activist whose work focuses on themes of immigration, identity, diaspora and belonging. This book is available as an ebook and eaudiobook on Libby as well as a physical book.
On May 26th, our book club pick is The List of Last Chances by Christina Myers. It follows a pair of reluctant travel companions across the country, into an unexpected friendship, new adventures, and the rare gift of second chances. Christina is a writer, editor and former journalist living on the west coast of Canada. This book is available as an ebook on both Hoopla and Libby and as a physical book.
On June 23rd, our conversation will be about Only One Survives by Hannah Mary McKinnon. A mystery writer who also writes romance books under her pseudonym Holly Cassidy has got to be interesting! An all-female pop band is travelling together when their van loses control on an icy road, leaving one member dead and another severely injured. One by one, the rest of the band end up dying. Read the book and join the conversation to find out more. Available as an eaudiobook on Libby, as a physical book and as an ebook on both Hoopla and Libby.
