An engaging and educational talk from experienced teacher and author Tanya Boteju. The author of several youth books, most recently Messy Perfect (2025) and Lake Life (2026), Tanya speaks to her work with youth as a teacher, mentor, and activist. She hopes that with every talk, "she’s bending the universe even the tiniest bit toward justice".

This virtual event is being live-streamed on Youtube, with a question and answer period following the author talk.

No registration required, just drop-in!

Tanya Boteju is a writer and educator living on unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh land (Vancouver, BC). Her debut novel, Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens, was named a Top Ten Indie Next Pick by the American Booksellers Association. Her YA novels, Bruised and Messy Perfect, appear on the American Librarian Association’s Rainbow List. Typically, you can find her cozy in her cabin, writing at cafés, or smooshing any dog that will let her. Tanya hopes she’s bending the universe even the tiniest bit toward justice.
