Join us to hear from award winner writer and activist Eddy Boudel Tan about his life and work. Get insight into what about his books makes them take you by the hand and shake you with feeling.

Writer and activist, Eddy Boudel Tan hit the Canadian literary scene hard and hasn't slowed down since. His novels, The Tiger and the Cosmonaut (2025), After Elias (2020), and The Rebellious Tide (2021), have been nominated for a range of awards and booklists.

He writes with passion, stating that "Stories can shake us. I want people to shake with rage and laughter and longing when they read my work". Join us to listen to him describe his life and work, and get insight into what about his books makes them take you by the hand and shake you with feeling.

The author talk will be followed by a Q&A period.

Eddy Boudel Tan writes fiction that isn't easily defined, including his novels The Tiger and the Cosmonaut, After Elias, and The Rebellious Tide. He was named a Rising Star by Writers' Trust of Canada in 2021, and he's been a finalist for the Giller Prize, Evergreen Award, Edmund White Award, and Ferro-Grumley Award.
