Today’s youth have access to more technology and information than ever before. That access includes risks in many forms such as cyberbullying, identity theft, and requests for nudity. There’s also some loss of personal connection and community and a potential negative impact on their mental wellness.
While the risks are real, best-selling author and educator, Angela Crocker, advocates for a proactive approach. Rather than fear what might happen to youth online, she wants parents, teachers, and guardians to empower youth with digital savvy so that they know what to do day to day and where to seek help if dangers pop up in their feeds.

Join City Archivist Jamie Sanford for an Archivist Talk as it enters its 11th year of operation.
He will introduce the services and work archives does to ensure that the history of Coquitlam and Coquitlamites is well documented for future generations.
Jamie will also provide an overview of the archives collections and discuss some of the most popular research topics at the Archives. Everyone is welcome.
