Branch - City Centre
City Centre Combined 136 & 137Learn basic debate skills from teen volunteers in a series of fun, interactive workshops, ending in a competition. Registration required. For kids and tweens in grades 6 to 8.
Teens will lead participants in a series of debate workshops. Participants will learn critical thinking and public speaking skills, how a debate is structured, and how to respectfully argue both sides of an issue. These sessions are meant to be an introduction to debate and public speaking - no previous experience necessary. Each week will build on the lessons taught the week before, ending in a competition at the final workshop.
A light snack will be provided. In partnership with the Teen Advisory Council.
