In partnership with ISSofBC's Job Quest and the Migrant Workers Centre, the Library is hosting a public webinar on Cross Cultural Communication in the Workplace.

Join the Library and IssofBC JobQuest this winter for a series of workshops to support newcomers who are seeking or entering the Canadian workforce.  The content of these workshops is focused on topics of special interest to newcomers to Canada however everyone is welcome to attend.

Culture plays an important role in how people communicate and understand others. Differing communication styles and cultural expectations can result in misunderstandings and lost opportunities. After exploring the role of culture and specific barriers to effective communication, resources and strategies will be presented to easily facilitate clearer and more confident workplace communication.

Registration required. The Library will be offering this tutorial using Zoom.

  • Please register in advance and include your email address in order to attend.
  • The Library will share an invitation to the Zoom meeting via email 24 hours in advance of the session.
  • Please contact the Library if you have not received an email.  We may be unable to email invitations to the Zoom meeting if you register less than 60 minutes before the start of the program.
