In partnership with ISSofBC's Job Quest, the Library is hosting a public webinar on education and training options for newcomers.
Join the Library and IssofBC JobQuest this winter for a series of workshops to support newcomers who are seeking or entering the Canadian workforce. The content of these workshops is focused on topics of special interest to newcomers to Canada however everyone is welcome to attend.
The world of work is rapidly changing. To compete successfully for jobs and promotions, many people look to education and training to increase their knowledge and skill sets. Before spending time and money on education or training, it is important to know what qualifications are most in demand by employers, and what options exist outside of traditional post-secondary institutions. Participants will learn about free or low-cost training options to upgrade skills and knowledge. Information on government-funded programs to help newcomers with credential evaluations and training loans will also be presented.
Registration required. The Library will be offering this tutorial using Zoom.
