City Centre Combined 136 & 137What happens when you get lost in the woods? Join Coquitlam SAR as they tell real stories of rescues and how people get lost. Learn what you and your kids can do to avoid danger.
It's hiking and camping season and every year people get lost in the woods. Join the Library and Coquitlam SAR to learn about outdoor safety. Our talented guest speakers will go over how kids can stay safe if they get lost, proper outdoor equipment, and recommendations for safe and fun nature excursions. You'll also hear real life stories of rescues and dangerous encounters such as stranded hikers and bear attacks. If you're going into the woods this summer you don't want to miss it!
Registration recommended. This event is for teens and adults ages 15+, and includes real life stories, equipment review, and discussion. Register for both or just this event.

12:30-1:30 Hug a tree. Kid program, for ages 5 and up
1:30-2:00 Break
2:30-4:30 Can you survive? Adult and Teen program, all ages.
